OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SISTER – RCL FOODS Business Unit: SUGAR Job Title: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SISTER Advert closing date: 11 SEPTEMBER 2026 Function MEDICAL SERVICES Reporting StructureSENIOR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SISTER LocationMALALANE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE Conducting medical examinations and biological monitoring. Attending to injuries on duty. Doctor and hospital referrals. Identifying and reporting safety related issues. Keeping clear and accurate records of all actions performed. Report writing. Educating and encouraging workers to take responsibility for their own health. Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation. Relieving at any other RCL Foods Sugar clinics when and where there is a need. Primary healthcare. Supervision and monitoring of patients with chronic conditions, including HIV. Dispensing medicine professionally and in an ethical manner and conducting the dispensing practice according to all legal requirements. KNOWLEDGE/ COMPETENCE The ideal candidate should be registered with the Nursing Council of South Africa as a Professional Nurse and have 5 years` experience in Occupational and Primary Healthcare. A Degree/Diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery and Community Health Nursing, Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health and Degree/Diploma in Primary Healthcare Nursing are further requirements. The successful candidate must also be in possession of a Certificate of Competence in Dispensing for Healthcare Professionals and Certificates in Audiometry and Spirometry. TB, HIV management and Emergency Training Courses would be further advantageous. The ability to communicate in English and SiSwati, Computer Literacy (Outlook, Word and Excel) and a valid Code 08 driver`s license are essential.
