NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A PROSPECTING RIGHT AND ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION

IN TERMS OF THE MINERAL AND PETROLEUM RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT, 2002 (ACT NO. 28 OF 2002) AND THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT NO. 107 OF 1998)

Notice is hereby given that Big 5 Newlife Building Construction cc intends applying for a Prospecting Right and Environmental Authorisation for prospecting activities for:

Gold, Lead, Zinc, Copper, Nickel, Chromium and Magnesium

On a part of the Farm Maanhaar 6IU, Mpumalanga Province, situated within the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality, Mpumalanga Province, near Ekulindeni.

The proposed prospecting activities may include:

•Geological mapping;

•Soil and rock sampling;

•Geophysical surveys;

•Trenching and test pits;

•Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling;

•Diamond core drilling;

•Temporary access roads;

•Temporary laydown and storage areas.

No mining activities form part of the current application.

The application is subject to a Public Participation Process in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended), promulgated under the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).

Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) are hereby invited to register and submit written comments, concerns or recommendations regarding the proposed development.

The Draft Basic Assessment Report and Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) will be made available for public review for a period of 30 days.
