Young soccer star living his dream

Local teenager Benedict (Benny) Gondwe (19) has been in England for seven months.

Benny is currently playing for Bromsgrove Sporting FC in the second division league.
He is not currently under contract, but hopes to be offered one soon. Benny attended Penryn College and had always wanted to play football
professionally. “It’s been a childhood dream,” he stated.
English football is of high calibre and the experience that Benny receives is priceless. “The English game is more difficult than what we are exposed to in South Africa, more physical, tactical and faster.” He aims to play regular first-team football for Bromsgrove, because the experience will be beneficial.
Benny played for the first team and was the head of the SRC for Penryn College. He is a self-motivated gentleman that has excellent potential, not only in terms of football abilities, but also in leadership. Benny is not afraid of following his ambitions, he is not scared of failure and wishes to develop into a footballer and person.
When asking Benny whether he would like to play for Bafana Bafana someday, his response was patriotic: “Which young South African doesn’t
dream of wearing the Bafana Bafana shirt?” Benny has always been a positive person, and extremely goal orientated. A lot can be learned from Bennny’s adventure in chasing his dream.
We all wish you well Benny and we hope that you can go as far as you believe you can. The whole of Mpumalanga is behind you in chasing your dream.
