Two domestic soccer giants Shongwe Chiefs and Magogeni Classic are ready to do battle in the final game of the Tsamaya Soccer Tournament.
Due to logistical delays due to the preparation of medals and the trophy the game is scheduled for March 1.
The semi-final clash witnessed a total of 10 goals, with the tightly contested match-up between Mashaba United and Shongwe Chiefs, which ended with only a one-goal difference of 4-3 in favour of Shongwe Chiefs.
Magogeni Classics were less remorseful when they trashed Blizzards 3-0.
Both camps have said they are ready for the final match and confident that their boys will deliver the results.
“We are 100 per cent ready for the final match. We have done all our preparation and have are ready for whatever they may have for us. There is no doubt that we will be bringing home the cup. We can reassure our supporters that they can come in their numbers to witness this occasion with us,” said Shongwe Chiefs head coach, Xolani Shongwe.
Organiser of the tourney, Mfanukhona Shongwe, said on the final game, two local senior soccer clubs of Boschfontein and Schuzendal, will play the first game of the day.
“On the day of the final, the first game will be played by the old crocs of Boschfontein and Schuzendal at 11:00. This will be followed by the losers final between Mashaba united and Mighty Blizzards at 13:30, and at 15:00 we will have our final game between Shongwe Chiefs and Magogeni Classics. We have been very impressed with the turnout of people attending the games during the course of the tournament. We are also hopeful that we have attracted some members of the business community, who will be willing to partner with us in making this a regular fixture on the local football calendar,” Shongwe said.
