Small boat bass competition season kicks off
The first small boat bass competition was greeted with lovely summer weather at Septico Dam on Sunday, February 2.
Within a few hours most anglers caught a fish.
As the day continued, it was obvious that one or two decent fish could
guarantee anglers the first prize. They seemed to be caught all across the dam with prominent baits.
Francois Nel caught two beauties of 1,5kg and 1,2kg, being the overall winner weighing in at 2,98kg. In second place were Marius Burger and teammate Jacques Woller with a bag of 2,47kg and in third Paul Shepheard and Waylon with a bag of 1,78kg.
The next fishing competition which was scheduled for March 2, has been postponed to Sunday April 6. Entrants should take note this competition is only for small boats with electric-trolling motors and small engine motors (not applicable for all competitions).
