DA hosts a knockout soccer tournament
The Democratic Alliance (DA) hosted a knockout soccer tournament at Matsamo sports ground this past weekend.
Eight teams took part but only four stood a chance of winning a trophy and new jerseys.
In fourth place was Brazil from Jeppes Reef, third was Continental from Schoemansdal, second Double Action from Bafana Basemhlangeni and the champions of the day was Real Madrid also from Bafana Basemhlangeni.
These teams walked away with their well deserved prizes.
“Iit was a big derby,” said DA Cllr Nomsa Mathobela. She planned the event and organised all the prizes and participants.
Cllr Mathobela said, “The intention was to campaign telling the youth that we as DA support them in their quest for job opportunities and as a government in waiting we have a plan to solve the situation if they vote DA.
We urge them to stay away from drugs, liquor and crime that can destroy their lives. The DA is the only party that can bring change in this country because it is against corruption.”
She added, “We will continue to do various kinds of activities as there are many talents in the different sporting codes in this area. We were visited by provincial youth chairman Mr Musa Kubheka, who also encouraged the youth.”
