Ready to be challenged?

Back-breaking climbs, bush tunnels, outback trails and superb single track... that's the Sappi Mankele Mountain Bike Challenge.

The fourth Sappi 4-in-1 MTB challenge will take place on Saturday
March 22 and is a mixed bag of gritty mountain biking that will test technical ability as well as climbing capacity.

About 1 200 riders across South Africa are expected to take on this tough
race. The 65km marathon with its calf-gnawing climbs, its daunting Mamba Tunnel, its heart-stopping drop and majestic views, is not for the faint-hearted. But if you prefer a more recreational ride, then the 35km ride with its lush vegetation is the race for you.
According to Sappi Forests’ general manager, Duane Roothman, “The event is a festive carnival of outdoor fun and entertainment that caters for the entire family.
The race has become increasingly popular and in addition to the full and half marathons, there is also a twist-filled 12km fun ride and a 2,4km kiddies’ race. It starts at the Mankele Ride Park in Sudwala, and traverses some of the most scenic natural forests and grasslands on Sappi’s property.
If, like Sappi, you are inspired by life and have the appetite for one of the most challenging yet beautiful mountain-bike routes in South Africa, then come and get your fix at the Sappi Mankele MTB. To enter, go to www.entrytime.co.za
