Nelspruit Fight Night is back!

Nelspruit Fight Night (NFN) is back! The eighth instalment of this event will take place at The Grove (the former Meltz building) on Saturday March 29.

NFN is a mixed martial-arts (MMA) event and features Nelspruit-based fighters taking on Johannesburg challengers. Fights consist of three rounds of three minutes each.

Matches start standing in a 6m hexagon-shaped cage, and punches, kicks and submissions are allowed. A referee and judges adjudicate the bout and ensure that the rules are followed. MMA action is a night of guaranteed excitement and adrenaline-fuelled fun.
“What many people don’t realise is that the fighters are skilled martial artists and train as hard, or even harder, than most amateur athletes, often twice a day, six times a week,” said the organiser, Craig McFadyen.
With 20 fights and a number of those featuring local fighters against tough Gauteng opposition, fans are in for a real treat.
With the likes of local talent such as Jedri Koekemoer, Quinten Graaff, Joggie Venter, Marcus Olivier, Linda van Staden and many more, they promises to deliver one of the best events yet.
Koekemoer is known for his accurate punching and devastating stand-up with nine fights to his name. Graaff, an eight-fight veteran, is a tough guy who just won’t give up.

Venter is known for his stand-up skill and Olivier is a heavyweight with knockout power. Pieter de Klerk from Middelburg is on a four-fight win streak, while Van Staden is one of the few women who compete. Having won her last fight in an exciting three-round match, she is confident in her chances against a good stand-up fighter from Gauteng.
Professional EFC fighters such as Dewald Botes, Jacques Joubert, JP Joubert, Danie van Heerden and Lourens Botes will be there for support.
VIP tables close to the action are limited and selling fast. Tickets are R150pp.

Normal seated tickets are R100pp and are available at the door. Food, drinks and safe parking will be available. Doors open at 18:00, first fight starts at 19:15.
