A victory for Black Aces

Mpumalanga Black Aces recorded their third impressive win when they defeated PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 on Wednesday night.

Super substitute, Miguel Timm’s only goal of the evening was enough for the home team to register their most
historic victory yet. And this victory may have caused Kaizer Chiefs the Premiership title after their arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Aces are surely guaranteed a space in the top eight. They are now comfortably seated in position five on the log with 40 points and only four games left. Behind them is Amazulu FC which are in sixth place with 38 points and Orlando Pirates in seventh with 37 but with two games in hand, which could easily see them climb back to the top of the standings.
Aces have now beaten all the three so-called giants in the PSL, namely Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. It remains to be seen whether Aces will repeat what they did in Mbombela when they meet Sundowns next Wednesday in Pretoria. Aces recent on-form performance hasn’t gone unnoticed as star player Themba Zwane received a call-up from the Bafana Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund. Read more on Zwane’s inclusion to the Bafana squad in next Tuesday’s edition.
