Black Aces’ midfielder makes it to the top

Mpumalanga Black Aces' midfielder, Themba "Mshishi" Zwane's recent great form has earned him a place in the Bafana Bafana squad that will face both Australia and New Zealand next month.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for this young gifted midfielder, who said he was prepared to die for his country.
Speaking exclusively to Lowvelder, Zwane said the call-up by Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund had motivated him to work even harder than he already was.
“This call-up is going to push me to work even harder and hopefully the experience will help improve my soccer career.
“I really want to be consistent in my game and in Bafana Bafana colours, so I am going to double my efforts and fight for a regular spot in the team.
“I want to thank everyone who has been involved in my soccer career and coach Clive Barker for believing in me. I will do my best not to disappoint my country and coach Igesund,” he said.
Not so long ago, Aces’ coach and Zwane’s mentor, Barker, predicted that he would soon be in the sqaud, saying that his player is in the same class as Bafana legends Doctor Khumalo and Shoes Moshoeu.
“It feels good to be compared to those players; they are legends of South African football. It shows that I am doing something right. I am actually happy that I got to be mentored by Barker, because he is the one who developed my potential,” he continued.
His team have also congratulated him and even committed to support him and that they would always make him available for the national team.
“Its great to have an Aces player in the squad and his teammates are equally happy as we have really been playing some outstanding football.

“We believe that there are more players from this team who are going to receive a call-up to the national team,” said the team’s spokesman, Gordon Masondo.
