Get ready to take on the mountains
The My SPAR Forest2Falls MTB race, one of the most enjoyable and most scenic events on the calendar, will take place this Saturday.

The route is located in the Drakensberg escarpment of Mpumalanga, exactly halfway between Sabie and Graskop, close to the Mac Mac Falls and Pilgrim’s Rest. This can truly be the family breakaway that you were looking forward to.
Route information
• 19,5km starts at 8:40
For the adult beginner this is an excellent start with mountainous terrain and inevitable uphills. This is more than just a family outing. It is designed for the family and younger children and has a few challenges of its own. It is also perfect for beginners and those less fit.
• 37km starts at 8:20
It is the most beautiful route of all. It passes the Forest Falls, meanders through the mysterious pine forests, and zigzags down single tracks covered in fallen pine cones. If you are in top form, energetic, and not afraid of a challenge, this one is for you. If you just want to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful scenery, come along and enjoy the ride.
• 70km starts at 8:00
The 2011 route proved to be a nightmare for most of the participants. After warming up the first 35km, the fit and brave will continue into the York plantations for the challenging but not murderous 40km. At approximately 45km the King and Queen of the Mountain will be chosen. The route has an approximate ascent of 1,580m which is challenging but manageable. This exciting new route for the 70km race is pure endurance and challenge, with steep uphills, crazy downhills and single tracks of 8,7km. This is your opportunity to show what you are made of – definitely not for the faint-hearted.
