Polokwane play an ace up their sleeves

Polokwane City's Esau Kanyenda scored a last minute goal to secure a 2-1 victory over Mpumalanga Black Aces in an Absa Premiership clash played at KaNyamazane Stadium on Sunday.

Aces dominated the opening stages but most probably played their worst game in the season so far, as AmaZayoni’s defender, Abel Mabaso got the first shot at a goal, but his attempt went wide of City’s goalkeeper, Modiri Marumo’s posts in the eighth minute.

The visitors broke the deadlock with their first shot on target in the 16th minute.

Former Malawi international, Esau Kanyenda toe-poked the ball through a few players when it ended up in the back of the net.

With 10 minutes remaining, Aces’ substitute, Tshidiso Tukane was causing trouble for City’s defence with his pace down the flanks. Aces remain in the seventh position on the Absa Premiership standings despite the loss.
