Young players show skill on golf course
The Provincial Domestic Golf League kicked off on Sunday with the Malelane Open with Nicklas van Wyk winning by 158 points.

The day started bright and early with 40 kids from across Mpumalanga teeing off with a very cold breeze blowing through the course. This did not last long as the hot Lowveld sun soon showed visitors this was not going to be a day for jerseys and long pants. The top junior golfers in the province found it difficult to shoot low scores and some worried parents cheered them on from the side lines. They finished the 36 holes just in time as the loud thunder chased the golfers back to the clubhouse. “Mpumalanga Junior Golf would like to thank Malelane Golf Club and its members for the use of the facilities and their hospitality and also our sponsors, Selati Sugar, CANSA and Lowveld Nomads who made this day a success,” said regional manager, Cor Du Preez.
