Angling and Outdoor World draws your attention as we tiptoe nearer to winter

The next dates for the Category R skippers courses hosted at our store are May 20 and 21. Costs are R1750 per person. Paid booking is essential!! It’s an evening course. The first night is from 18:00 till around 09:30, you’ll be doing the theory during this part of the course. The second night is from 18:00 until you finish writing your exam, which is generally about an hour.

As mentioned above, winter is nearly upon us, and with that comes peak trout season J We’ve still got all of our Cortland flylines clearing at ludicrous prices. Stock is moving quickly, so if you want to kit yourself out with a new flyline, don’t dilly-dally or you’ll miss out. Plus, many of our fly reels and accessories are on promotion at prices so good, you won’t have to get your credit card into a wind-knot.

The fourth round of the Lowveld Bass Trail is going to be held this Saturday (May 10) at Kwena Dam near Lydenburg. The tournament has been a great success so far with each round averaging around thirty boats taking part. Please note that from the Kwena Dam leg, until the event in August, fishing will start at 7am with captain’s meetings starting at 6:45. For more information, feel free to contact Adriaan Bam at 079-516-6201.

Staying on the bass fishing note, if you haven’t yet been in the store to take a look at the largest range of Lew’s reels and Halo rods in the Lowveld, you are missing out on some serious gear. Both brands are remarkable value for money, and when pro anglers like Randall Tharp, Stephen Browning, Mark Davis, Terry Scroggins and Jay Yelas use them, you just know they’ve gotta be good.

Hunting season is here, and if you’re in the market for a new bow, we’ve recently received Hoyt’s 2014 offerings. The Hoyt Carbon Spyder 30 and the Hoyt Faktor 30. The all-new Carbon Spyder series features the first ever Hoyt carbon 30 inch bow for exceptionally compact, lightweight, stealthy maneuverability, while the game changing Faktor series features the unbelievably slim and stable Faktor riser and all of the Hoyt technology factors for success.
