Team test its strength

Mokororwane Sports Academy recently had the opportunity to play against the Sundowns senior women team on a trip to Johannesburg.

The Mokororwane team managed to beat them 3-2. They also played against one of the largest development academies in the country, Celta Vigo. The squad beat them 2-0.

The team had the opportunity to meat Arsenal development coaches from England. “The comments we received from the Arsenal representatives were positive. They were surprised to see the squad which is brewed from the rural area playing professional soccer,” said Precious Mphogo, team manager.

The team would like to extend their gratitude to their sponsors which include Tubatse Chrome and Youth Zones. “Without the mines’ help this team would not have the opportunity to go to Johannesburg and expose their talent,” added Mphogo.

During their visit in Johannesburg several representatives of other teams including Wits University and Moroka Swallows said they were interested to compete against the Mokororwane team in future.

The academy is looking for talented young soccer players from Sekhukhune to join their team. Interested players can contact Dube Rantho on 082-419-9229 or Leonard Sebulela on 072-868-4860.
