Selati Cup to change hands again

The notion that the Selati Super Cup can never be won by the same team twice in a row or be successfully defended, lives on after it has been proven again to be true this past weekend.

This is after the defending champions, Mlambo Royal Cubs who lifted the “sweet’ trophy last year, were booted out of this soccer tourney by Mdladla Peace Makers in a pound-for-pound encounter, which was decided on penalties after a goalless draw at full-time.

Since inception of this tournament in 2005, no team has ever successfully defended their title and many had hoped that Mlambo Royal Cubs would make history by becoming the first-ever team to beat the streak.
