Put your best foot forward
Brave the early morning winter chill, lace up your trainers, pack mom, dad, the kids, granny, even the dog if you wish, and come take your step for children on Saturday June 21.

Riverside Park, Mbombela’s premier shopping, lifestyle and entertainment hub, is holding its fourth Take a Step for Children Charity Road Race and Fun Run/Walk.
Everyone is welcome, from the serious to the not-so-serious athletes.
Both events will start and finish opposite the boulevard entrance at the mall with the 10km participants hitting the road at 07:00, while the more leisurely 3km fun run/walk will start at 08:00.
The morning promises to be a cheerful and colourful one with a carnival of superb kiddies’ entertainment including a magic show by David Dee, balloon twisting courtesy of Zippy the Clown and an interactive, ventriloquist puppet show starring Leo the Lovable Lion, Atti the Gorilla and Barney the Dinosaur.
“We urge families, local business, churches, schools, sport and running clubs – young and old – to come along and participate in our fund-raiser while enjoying some gentle exercise in the crisp outdoors,” says Renate Scholle, city improvement district manager for Riverside Park.
The entry fee for the 10km charity road race is R25 and has a minimum age of 16, while those wishing to participate in the fun run will pay R15. Registration is on the morning of the race from 06:00 and temporary licences will be available.
