Enjoy good times with soccer

Organisers of the first-ever five-a-side soccer tournament in Emjindini, hope the event will promote amateur soccer in the area.

The three-week tournament will start on Saturday at Emjindini Stadium, kicking off at 11:00. It is the brainchild of Fifa Khoza, a local referee who has officiated soccer teams in the Umjindi Local Football Association.

“We want to make this a tremendous event that’s fun for everyone, not just the players. It’s more than just a five-a-side soccer tournament. We’d like to get everybody out to enjoy the weekends, whether they like to play, watch or just have a good time,” he said.

Participation is free and the closing date is Friday June 27.

“Teams can register a maximum of 10 players. The first fixture will be played on Saturday, the following one next Saturday on July 5 and the final games on July 14,” said Khoza.

Enquiries: Khoza on 072-823-8649. Entry forms can be obtained at Top Notch.
