LVCC team win at own clubhouse

A massive total of 112 bowlers of 28 teams participated over two days. 

The format was mixed fours and a total of six minigames were played. Each one consisted of 10 ends. The aim was to win each end to get a point and to win the game to get two points. 

You could accumulate 12 points per game. They started on Saturday morning with a pre-draw for the two days. After the first two minigames it was Kosie Smit’s team of Barberton which was top of the log on 19 points and a shot aggregate of 14. 

Don Johnstone of Waterval Boven’s team was breathing down Kosie’s neck on 17 points and a shot aggregate of 14. 

On Sunday morning it was back to the greens. 

Bowlers were trying their utmost to beat their opposition, but it was Malcolm Tyerman, Shirley Tyerman, Maureen

Steinbrucker and Hybert Fahy of LVCC who came from seventh place to be crowned the overall winners on 45 points and a shot aggregate of 12. 

Bungalows Bowling Club’s team comprising Larry Ireland, Darryl Cross, Marlet Ireland and Christie Cross came second on 42 points and a shot aggregate of 27. In third was the White River team of Denis Paiva, Miranda Paiva,

Hardus Korf and Gwyn Korf on 41 points and shot aggregate of 10. 
Raffles were sold and two winners, Lettie Ambrosius and Pat Jones, were drawn. A spider was played and R1 000 raised. The funds were donated to Nomads. Spider winner for the women were Ellenor Storkey and for the men Jo Koster.
