Selati cup teams ready for kickoff
Only 105 squads managed to reach the 500-vote threshold.
On Monday afternoon the main sponsor of the Selati Cup, TSB, announced the 128 teams which would participate in this year’s tournament.
It announced that by the time voting closed, only 105 teams had qualified for entry.
“Only 105 squads managed to reach the 500-vote threshold. We consulted with Nkomazi Local Football Association to make a decision about the remaining 23 teams since we need 128 to participate in the tournament.
“A decision was taken that the highest votes from the remaining squads would be considered, hence we managed to have 128,” said TSB’s Christabel Hlatshwayo.
The kick-off date for this year’s event is March 22, with the stadium to be announced during the official launch and draw, taking place tomorrow at KaMhlushwa Community Hall.
