Slow and fast share LHS pride
Lowveld High School was very privileged to host an interhouse gala recently.

The 2015 swimming season started with six big teams of swimmers. Most of these teams were beginners that have never been in a pool in their life. The school’s dedicated coaches spent countless hours in the pool with these learners, teaching them how to become comfortable in the water and swim for the first time.
Every single child was given the opportunity to take part in this gala and events were designed for their level of competency in the water.
There were events for the advanced and intermediate groups where they could boast their skills after all the long hours of training.
The events on that day included:
• 50 metres freestyle
• 25 metres breast stroke
• 3×25 metres noodle relay
• 25 metres beginners kick-board race
• 25 metres back stroke
• 25 metres freestyle
• Beginner’s diving competition
• Beginner’s noodle and kickboard race.
