Locals take the honours

Nico Bell and JP Jung of Team RECM/Bells Cycling Midas were crowned overall general classification winners in the 10th edition of the MTN Panorama Tour in nine hours, 19 minutes and 37 seconds.

“The race for everyone” started on Saturday and was concluded on Tuesday. The atmosphere was electric, and riders were ready to put in 150 per cent for the 36 kilometres, and 500 metres time trial on the last day. The route runs up and past Witklip Dam to the festive turnaround point at 19 kilometres, back past oncoming riders, enjoying the big ring most of the way to the finish.

Riders went out in unofficial slowest to fastest order, and as the clock struck 09:45 the last riders were sent on their way. The earlier batches got to enjoy watching the pros fly past as they raced for the overall win.
