Indoor action heats up in Riverside
The brand-new arena will host action cricket, netball and hockey with future plans to also host action volleyball at the facility.
Action Sport is back with a bang this May as they return to their former golden turf in Riverside Industrial in Waterfall Avenue.
The brand-new arena will host action cricket, netball and hockey with future plans to also host action volleyball at the facility.
According to Jacques du Plessis, manager of the arena the main reason for the move from Bester Street was to relocate to more centralised location.
“This is one of the best choices we have made to move to this bigger venue that was our home a year and a half ago. There will be bigger and better facilities and we invite everyone to join,” he said.
The Action Arena will officially open on Wednesday, May 13 at 18:00 and it will be an event not to miss for sport lovers and their families alike.
“The netball evenings are always packed and it will surely be a great atmosphere,” he said.
“The junior action cricket will start on Friday, May 8 and we encourage kids to come and play at the arena,” said
Eric Grimaldi.
The action arena will not only host sporting matches, but also children’s birthday parties and will have a fully licenced bar area and restaurant.
“Teams can participate in social and league games and can enter for the league season which will start in mid May,” said Du Plessis.
In addition to this, businesses are also welcome to enter teams for a business league this season.
