Aces appoint experienced Ertugral as new coach
One of the main reasons for the Turk's interest in the job was Aces' focus on youth development.
Mpumalanga Black Aces has signed up the experienced and well-travelled, Muhsin Ertugral as their new head coach on a two-year deal.
Ertugral’s appointment was made on Tuesday May 12 at Melrose Arch after a rigorous consultative process by Aces management.
As one of South Africa’s most prominent and passionate coaches, Ertugral will be determined to give the team the edge it needs to bring home silverware in the upcoming season.
Ertugral has previously coached Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town in the Absa Premiership with much success and will be looking to continue his long-standing relationship with South African Football.
One of the main reasons for the Turk’s interest in the job was Aces’ focus on youth development.
The 2007 PSL coach of the season, will look to once again use all his experience in an Aces side who looks to be getting a makeover in the 2015/16 season under the astute tactician’s leadership.
“Our league is extremely competitive hence our decision to appoint a coach of Ertugral’s calibre because of his comprehensive knowledge of South African Football. Ertugral is a tactician of note and his high-performance coaching expertise relating to the youth is in line with the club’s vision. The core of our technical vision is to achieve great success and the head coach is central to that plan,” said club chairman Mario Morfou.
Former first team coaches Clive Barker and Jacob Sakala will continue to play a meaningful role in the technical development of the Aces brand in the future.
“We have already completed and submitted our two-months plan to management. We will commence our pre-season training on June 8.
“Our aim is to compete while playing an attractive and entertaining style of football and we will in the process introduce youngsters in order to grow our own base of players. We believe that there is no future without the youth,” said Ertugral.
Ertugral is leaving South Africa on Tuesday to join his peers at the Fifa
Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand.
