Fencers gain experience
Mpumalanga Fencing was invited to an interprovisional fencing competition in Polokwane recently.

It was the first competition of the year that the coach of the club, Greta Ingram and her learners had attended.
Even so, three of their fencers went through to the elimination round and displayed great courage. One of them, Jordan Ingram received gold in the u/11 category for junior boys epee.
The day was filled with excitement as they were also able to watch some of Limpopo’s highest ranked fencers battle it out on the fencing piste. “It was a great pleasure to watch Andrew Howitt fence in both epee and foil bouts. He is a Springbok fencer who has had a long career in fencing,” says Greta.
It is with great pleasure that the Mpumalanga Fencing Club will be hosting fencers from Limpopo on the weekend of May 28.
The club will be at the Uplands Festival and anyone is more than welcome to come try their hand at fencing. Howitt will demonstrate the various forms of fencing which includes epee, foil and sabre.
Be sure not to miss out on this fantastic opportunity to see fencing at its best. Enquiries: Greta on 082-438-4042.
