SPAR and its suppliers chip for a good cause

SPAR Lowveld put the fun back in fund-raising with its 10th annual golf day which recently took place.
Dynamic comedian Joey Rasdien provoked chuckles and made for one very happy charity day. White River Country Club hosted 200 avid golfers with the same idea in mind, to put their golf clubs to good use.
A total of R75 000 went to the Mpumalanga Association for Physically Disabled (MAPD). This charity employs qualified social workers, and auxiliary social workers in order to ensure the rendering of quality services to people with disability in Mpumalanga.
More than 2 000 people with disabilities benefit from MAPD’s service, hence it was the beneficiary this year. The main aim wasn’t only to raise funds, but to thank all SPAR’s suppliers for their loyalty.
This year’s theme for the SPAR Lowveld Supplier Charity Golf Day was Rumble in the Jungle.
It is a yearly tradition that allows sponsors of each hole to dress up accordingly and provide tons of fun activities for players waiting to tee off.
Organisers enjoyed fantastic feedback and one of the regular participants was overheard saying it was “the best golf day so far”.
Plans are already in place for the next event, “but telling would ruin the surprise,” says Nikki Laubscher, events and sponsorship coordinator of SPAR Lowveld.
