Six of the best sporting events hitting the Lowveld this weekend
Take a look at some of the big sporting events that the Lowveld has to offer this weekend
• The first ever Firefly Night Golf event will take place tonight in the Lowveld. This new dawn in golfing will take place at White River Country Club. Tee-off starts at 18:30 with additional LED golf balls and LED headlamps for sale at the event. The format of the competition will be Individual Medal.
• The u/7 and u/9 mini soccer and netball tournament will take place at Uplands Preparatory sport fields. The matches will start at 14:00.
• Hoërskool Rob Ferreira will fight it out against Hoërskool Secunda on Friday June 5. The rugby and hockey matches promise to deliver intense action and will start at 14:00. The first-team rugby and hockey matches will take place at 16:00.
• Nelspruit Rugby Club will face off against Sasol Secunda in a Lowveld League match on the former’s rugby fields. The second team will start their match at 14:00 with the first teams running on to the field at 15:30. Come support the boys!
• The Ehlanzeni netball championships A1 and A2 will take placed at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira on Saturday June 6. This is where the districts best netball girls strut their stuff and show their skills.
• Rugby will once again rock at Hoërskool Nelspruit where the Rhinos of Nellies will take on Hoërskool Middelburg in a much-anticipated clash at 13:20.
