Looking for some adrenalin-fuelled action this weekend or something more elegant next weekend?

See fighters from all over the Lowveld clash in the ring at the annual White River Kickboxing Fight Night on Saturday.

It will be held at White River Primary’s hall from 18:00 and fighters from the area will compete in several matches and exhibition matches.

Last year’s event provided loads of excellent sporting entertainment with kick-boxers of all ages competing as well as an exhibition match that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Participants received prizes and tokens of appreciation with spectators also receiving goodies like snacks and sponsored items. Read more about last year’s event and view photos here.

Book a ringside table to ensure you have to best seat in the house. Tickets will be sold at the door and cost R50 for adults and R30 for children.

To book your table or tickets, send an email to wrkickboxing@gmail.com.

Other items on the local sports calendar include the Hazyview Gymnastics Club’s club competition at the Kiepersol Hall next Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00.

Family and friends are welcome to come and support the participants. This is a good opporunity for parents to see how their young gymnasts have improved since the start of the year.

Entrance fee will be R10 for adults, which will go towards the club’s expenses.

Later that afternoon, the Hazyview Rugby Club will take on Riverside on their home field at Numbi Primary.

Entry fees are R15 per person, which will be donated to CANSA.
