Aces keen to deliver the goods
Mpumalanga Black Aces will play their first official Absa Premiership game at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday and they hope for a fine start at home.
Aces are hosting the stubborn Tshwane-based outfits, Supersport United which beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 during their opening match last Tuesday.
This official first clash on home soil kicks off at 18:00, just after the Mbombela United and Thanda Royal Zulu thriller at the KaNyamazane Stadium.
“We look forward to hosting Supersport United here at home.
“We saw them against Pirates last week and they are good.
“It is never easy playing against them, whether at how or away because they are indeed a good side, but we have done our homework well and I believe that we are equally up to the challenge.
“Since the arrival of our new coach, Muhsin Ertugral, we have seen much improvement from the team and each and every player is keen on making the first 11 by working extra hard at training. So, I guess we have to wait for Saturday and find out just how much our boys are hungry for success this season,” said Aces spokesperson, Gordon Masondo.
Masondo said last week’s away win against Free State Stars gave the team the motivational boost they needed, especially after losing many key players during the off-season.
“Our win there was no fluke. It was simply a taste of what the coach is busy cooking behind the scenes and I am certain that there is more where that came from.
“Our aim for this year is to finish in a decent position on the log and fight for at least one silverware. This is possible,”
he went on.
