Golfers tee off for charity
The bite of frost in the air was a sharp contrast to the warm hearts of the players participating in Produkta Nissan’s annual golf day in aid of the Christelike Maatskaplike Raad (CMR) White River on September 4.
The White River Country Club’s green was a hive of activity as the 120 players zipped between the tees on golf carts. It was a betterball Stableford and scramble drive and players could enjoy snacks and drinks at a few of the tees before continuing.
The event is held in the first week of September each year as a fund-raiser for White River’s CMR. It works with needy families in the community and, among other projects, provides them with food and clothing.
The event was concluded with a prize-giving in the clubhouse, where the top teams and players were rewarded for their efforts on the green.

The organisers would like to thank the long list of sponsors and the participants who contributed to the event’s success. They managed to almost double their income for last year.
They would also like to thank the Lord for the weather and turnout and said none of it would have been possible without Him.
Golf players and businesses who would like to join in making a difference can mark September 2 on their calendar for next year’s event.
