Dis-Chem ride for sight

This, the 28^th event remains a seeding event for the Cape Town Cycle Tour.  Cash prizes valued at R82 000 will be awarded in CSA Cycling categories.  Lucky Draw and donation prizes worth over R200 000 will be up for grabs. Remember to add at least a R20 donation to your entry fee. This will put you into the draw for a wonderful prize for 2 lucky cyclists – a Trek Bike valued at R40 000 or a 7 night holiday for 2 at Michamvi Sunset Bay resort in Zanzibar (valued at R42 000 – [flights excluded].

The Dis-Chem Foundation will once again match all of these lucky draw donations over and above event entry fees. The proceeds will fund genetic tests for financially disadvantaged children.

To support the fight against blindness Vision Works Optometrists will be offering free vison screening during the month of February.  For information on participating stores please check out www.vision-works.co.za.  Vision Works will also offer free vision screening on race day at the race venue in partnership with the City of Ekurhuleni.

As in previous years Dis-Chem Pharmacies are the naming sponsor with Ekurhuleni Metro, Springs Wheelers, Hamnet Emergency Communications and Benoni Red Cross partnering with Retina South Africa to provide the cyclists with the best emergency and on route support, to ensure that they have a safe and enjoyable ride.

Enter NOW and help restore the Gift of Sight, all proceeds from the event go directly to finding cures for retinal blindness.  Over the last 27 years this event has raised more than five million rand for research into these blinding conditions.
