Stellar sport stars honoured
Sportswoman of the year, hockey player of the year and cross country athlete of the year.
Selanna Biggs was recently given all these trophies at Curro Nelspruit annual awards evening.
She captained three hockey teams, received her colours in three sports and she is part of her school’s prefects for 2016.
“Amazing! All this, with discovering she had been ill for a year with an autoimmune disease and really battled with feeling ill. We are hugely proud of this bubbly, precious sunbeam. We love you Selanna, and we love your heart,” said her mom, Melisa Biggs.
The sportman of the year award went to Zander van der Merwe for provincial participation in swimming and athletics. He also received the trophies for athlete and hockey player of the year where he was the top achiever at the Tritech nationals.
“Glory to our God! We are very proud of you,” commented his mother, Liza.
