Great honour for local coach
Maré Putter, owner and head coach of Nelspruit Gymnastics Academy (NGA) will be a judge at the 2016 Austrian Team Open (ATO) at the Tips Arena in Linz, Austria.
Putter is one of 18 other South Africans who will engage on an international level during the current Olympic Cycle. Gymnasts from 15 countries will compete at this pre-Olympic event with the hopes of qualifying for the Rio Olympic Games.
As a stalwart in the field of women’s artistic gymnastics, Putter will join an impressive group of brevet judges invited to represent the South African Gymnastics Federation.
NGA has won multiple awards and accolades since its inception 20 years ago. “It is an honour to represent our country,” says Putter.
At the moment four gymnasts, Arilyn Dawson, Larise Combrink, Larusha Scheepers and Shené Coetzee are looking forward to compete at the 2016 USAIGC/IAIGC World Championships in Orlando, Florida in June.
Putter remains serenely calm amiss the hustle and bustle preparing for the trip as well as making arrangements for her family and club during her absence. Upon her return, the preparation for the official competition season will start in full swing.
