NMC members dedicate race to one of their own
Nelspruit Marathon Club (NMC) dedicated this year's Loskop Marathon race to fellow athlete and cancer sufferer, Amanda Oosthuizen.

Normally, if people think of a marathon club they think of running only. “We are not only runners, we are a family. We not only run the road races, but we also run the emotional races with our fellow runners,” said Jonene Mortlock of the club. One of their members, Oosthuizen, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in February.
This was one of those emotional races that she would not have to do on her own.
NMC decided to dedicate the Loskop race to her, not only by running, but also by spraying their boasted pink beards. Some of the men, even boasted pink beards and ran with pink buff’s in support of their teammate.
All the women handed a rose to her at the finish. She still have to undergo another centigram and radio active iodine therapy in October. Not only by grace, but also through the support of family and friends, will she be on the road again very soon.
