Old Boys weekend a first for Uplands
Uplands College hosted its first-ever Old Boys cricket weekend.

Sixteen former pupils and six teachers from the Uplands family hit the pitch for two T20 matches.
Team Weinrich batted first and made 42 runs in 11 overs. Opposing team, Prideaux Brune kept cool and after just nine overs without a loss of a wicket, managed to secure the win.
A second match was played and this time Prideaux made 60/8 in 15 overs. After seven overs, Weinrich already had 47 runs on the scoreboard.

The number 90 was branded on the back of the cricketers shirt in recognition of Uplands’ 90th birthday.
“It is a great initiative and we are planning to host another tournament over the June/July holiday. It is all about having fun and catching up with old pupils,” said teacher and coach at Uplands, Hendrik Joubert.
