Methula joins the Titans

Mpumalanga Cricket Union is proud to announce that Ashley Methula has been called up to join the Multiply Titans for their Sunfoil 4 Day match against the VKB Knights at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein from the 15 -18 February 2018.

At the recent CSA Academy Week in Oudsthoorn, Ashely emerged as one of the best seamers for the Titans Academy and picked up 5 wickets for 50 runs in 38 overs which is an amazing return against the Lions Academy.

Ashley is a tall right-arm seamer who is very accurate and swings the ball away from the Right-handed batsmen also bowled steadily against Oman in Pretoria for a Titans Pipeline invitation team two weeks ago, picking up two for 28 in 7 overs.

Ashley is also a student teacher at Bethal Primary School.

While his selection was based on the potential to be a future Titans player, the experience and opportunity to work in that environment will stand him in good stead moving forward in his career said Mark Charlton who is the High-Performance Manager for the Titans.

“We are committed to give players within our franchise more exposure in our Pipeline Programs, and therefore Ashley has been invited to perform 12th man duties and gain invaluable experience in the Titans environment”.

Mpumalanga Cricket Union CEO, Jaco Visagie said that he was extremely proud of Ashley and the opportunity afforded to him indicates the strong relationship with the Titans Franchise and that players from our region are not overlooked and have the pathway to become Titans.
