Team Vicious Delicious victorious

Playing at the Nelspruit Action Arena with a final score of 25-20 against team Fruit Salad, the ladies of team Vicious Delicious had their work cut out for them with a physical game played by their opponents.

Team Vicious Delicious played a hard game on Wednesday, winning the ladies gold final at this year’s A-League Action Netball finals.

In a lightning-fast first half, Vicious Delicious managed to keep the Fruit Salad players at bay, with only three points between them when the half-time whistle rang.

Working hard to maintain their momentum under the constant onslaught, Vicious Delicious’ captain, Zelda Venter, managed to best Fruit Salad’s solid defence, scoring the much-needed goals to convincingly swing the game in the team’s favour.

In the ladies B final, team Sizwe beat the Warrior Queens 25-15. The Eagle Kings reigned victorious over team Xerox in the mixed C final, with a final score of 31-20 to the Eagle Kings.

Team Pearson Institute of Higher Education was beat by Die Katte, 26-16 in the mixed D final.

According to Braam Oosthuizen, manager of the Action Arena, the event was well attended and offered players of varying skill levels the opportunity to match their current abilities against the other teams in the lively local Action Netball league.

“We are looking forward to seeing the teams progress and do well come next season,” he said.
