Boshoff to lead SA at Commonwealth Games
Team Infinita's Bosseau Boshoff has been appointed as manager of the South African road cycling team that will compete in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia.
Road cycling commissioner of South Africa and a level-two UCI coach, Boshoff has over 20 years’ experience. In the past, he has accompanied the national team to six world championship. This year’s games will, however be his first.
“We are taking a group of youngsters with a lot of experience to the games. I am excited to see what they can bring to the table.”
South Africa did not send a men’s road cycling team to the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, who excelled on the international stage last year, is the only woman selected for the road category and will only be in action in the time trial.
Nicholas Dlamini, Clint Hendricks, Brad Potgieter, Nolan Hoffman and Brendon Davids will compete in the road races, with Dlamini to compete in the time trial as well.

The in-form Davids achieved a career first when he raced to victory in the three-day Bestmed Jock Tour, which finished at Mbombela Stadium last year.
Dlamini reached new heights when he won the overall king of the mountains title in the 810-kilometre Tour Down Under in Adelaide, Australia earlier this year.
The team will depart for Australia on April 1.
The riders are set to compete on April 10 and 14 at Currumbin Beachfront.
