Robbies’ 16-year-old is a rising star in the making
Hoërskool Rob Ferreira's Vuyo Ndlovu (u/16) dominated the talk at the Mediclinic Nelspruit Interhigh from start to finish.

He won the 200 metres, capping 1 042 ABSA points on Saturday.
He clocked a time of 22,01 seconds, claiming his second gold medal of the day. His first was in the 100-metre event with a time of 10,85, totalling 958 points, and his third in the 400 metres in 52,70.
Junior Mondlane (u/15) opened his interhigh campaign in fine style, earning convincing victories in both the long jump, 300-metre hurdles and 100 metres.

He secured the gold medal against a quality athlete line-up in the likes of Ashaan Sebastian Greaver and Bandile Mabuza, charging across the 100-metre finishing line in 11,20.
Junior had his sights set on the long jump event, with the hopes of breaking a 34-year-old record of 6,46 metres. He missed the distance by 0,2 metres.
It was a devastating sight, as Nkosana Mpinga (u/16) had been disqualified for two false starts ahead of his specialised event, the 100 metres. He was the 2017 title-holder, with a time of 10,86.

Nkosana came back on top as he placed first in the 200 metres with a time of 22,58. He added a silver medal to his name in the 400 metres with a time of 51,63.
The performance trophy (total points of the day in relation to the total number of pupils) is proudly displayed in Robbies’ foyer. Rob took home the plate trophy with a total score of 1 368.
