Bringing the king’s game to a young audience

Ehlanzeni Chess had the privilege of promoting the game at i'langa Mall on Saturday.

And what a whopping success it was. Chess players from the age of three participated in this fun event.

MC Steven Cochrane drew the shoppers’ attention with his quips and chess puzzles, while Madelaine Dorey did face painting and hair spraying.

“We had a blitz game as well between our regional champ, Dumisa Nkosi, and one of our top senior players, Marco Craig. Nkosi also played simuls against 10 players and was unbeaten,” said Lizelle Douglass of Ehlanzeni Chess.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank i’langa Mall for this fun-filled day and we will definitely host another chess day.”

The first tournament of the season will be held at Uplands today.
