NRC reveal new jerseys

Nelspruit Rugby Club (NRC) will be kicking off the 2018 rugby season with brand-new jerseys sponsored by Bitmart and Uniwisp.

According to Bitmart CEO Jacques Serfontein, it is important for local businesses to support local sport clubs like NRC.

“At Bitmart we believe that it is important to support local talent and assist fellow Nelspruiters where we can. The club has been an ambassador of Lowveld rugby talent for years and we strongly believe in supporting locals,” said Serfontein.

He also said it is important for people to participate in sport, even if it’s after a busy day or week at the office.

“Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and participating in sport activities are very important. It becomes more difficult to enjoy sport once you enter the working environment and therefore it is important to encourage everyone to get involved,” said Serfontein.

Herklaas du Preez, chair of NRC, thanked Bitmart for the sponsorship and said it will motivate the team.

“The new jerseys look very impressive and we are very excited to play in them. No amateur rugby club can move forward without the support from the community. We don’t get funds from the South Africa Rugby Football Union or the Mpumalanga Rugby Union, so we have to rely on our own methods,” said Du Preez.

The 2018 rugby season will kick off when NRC take on newcomer, the Newcastle Highlanders on Saturday April 7 in Mbombela.
