Nelspruit RC hosts third annual golf day
The fourball alliance of Scott Kemp, Shawn Fermor and Piet and Gerrit van Wyk came out tops at Nelspruit Rugby Club's (NRC) third annual golf day on Friday at Mbombela Golf Club.
The competition was a scramble drive format with the winning team totalling
119 points.
Johan Haasbroek, Pieter Obermeyer, Clayton Schrinck and Leon du Toit took second place, also on 119 points.
The top-11 placed fourballs walked away with prizes whereafter a lucky draw took place.
Funds raised on the day will be allocated to NRC for upgrading and maintenance of the club.
Daan Breytenbach took home the prize for the closest to the pin on 17 as well as the longest drive on nine (par four, stroke 15).
“It was once again a very successful day. Thank you to all the sponsors that were involved. We are looking forward to see all the golfers back on the greens next year,” said chairman of NRC, Herklaas du Preez.
