Dancers off to Europe

Five dancers from Surané Dance Academy (SDA) have been included in the Diamond Team that will represent South African in Europe in 2020. 

These dancers scored over 95 per cent at the finals of the International Fine Arts Association (IFAA).

The IFAA trials and semi-finals were held at the Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria over four consecutive days.

Competitors had to obtain an average of 85 per cent and above in order to qualify for the finals.

Close to 400 participants danced for glory in the finals which were held from August 30 to September 2.

SDA’s Ashley Williams, Bronwyn Williams, Kayle du Plessis and Jozanne Munnik performed

exceptionally well – each totaling an average of over 95 per cent.

“I would just like to congratulate all my dancers for going up there and competing by themselves. I am super proud of you,” said coach Surané Stapelberg.
