Golf day in aid of local star, Brandon
Mbombela Golf Club is set to host a golf day on Thursday October 25 in aid of rising star, Brandon Geere.
Only two months ago the former pupil of Hoërskool Nelspruit joined Ranger College in Texas to pursue his golfing career. In 2017 he was named golf player of the year during NHS’s prize-giving ceremony.
The 18 year old qualified for an 80 per cent bursary to attend the college in Texas. He has all the attributes to make it in a big way. He is already ranked second in his college team and top of his class academically so far as well.
His father was diagnosed with advanced cancer a month before he went over and has no means of income as he is getting intensive chemotherapy. It is such a dire situation that the flight ticket to the United States of America was sponsored by a friend.
The amount of money needed for Brandon to come home for the December holidays and return to Texas next year is enormous.
Therefore his mother, Sanet, is arranging a golf day to raise the necessary funds.
The costs are R3 000 to sponsor a hole, R4 000 for a tee box (hole one and 10) and R4 000 for green nine and 18.
It will include a fourball as well.
Cost per player – R300 or R1 200 per fourball.
Spread the word and support this young man.
Bookings: 013-744-0952. Enquiries: Sanet on 0637-337-020 or WhatsApp her on 082-802-1175.
Brandon together with his teammates from Ranger College competed in a tournament in America. The 18 year old finished overall sixth out of 77 players with rounds of 68, 69 and 66.
