GALLERY: Pumas’ stars of the year line up for their awards
iCollege Pumas fly half Chris Smith was rewarded for a strong season on the rugby field and took home the player of the year trophy at the Pumas' awards evening on Friday night.
Smith also walked away with the trophies for most points scored, SuperSport Challenge player of the year, Currie Cup backline player of the year and Currie Cup player of the year. He was also named the SupaRugby player of the year.
Winger, Ruwellyn Isbell was named iCollege Pumas’ top try scorer of the season, Sport Unplugged ambassador of 2018 and awarded the Airlink SuperSport try of the year. Captain of the Pumas, Hennie Skorbinski, who has decided not to renew his contract with the team, was presented with the trophy for most loyal player as well as SuperSport Challenge backline player of the year.
Six new faces have already joined the Lowveld-based team. They are Ngoni Chidoma, Etienne Taljaard, Ginter Smuts, Ashlon Davids, Corniel Els and Marco Palvie.
