Winners of Uniwisp Kaapsehoop 3-1 Marathon 2018
Anne Ashworth is the new title-holder of the Uniwisp Kaapsehoop 3-1 Marathon, presented by Nelspruit Marathon Club.

Anne Ashworth is the new title-holder of the Uniwisp Kaapsehoop 3-1 Marathon, presented by Nelspruit Marathon Club.
She outran her competitors and won with a time of two hours, 47 minutes and 17 seconds. Last year she had to settle for second place.
Last year’s winning time was 2:54:49. Ashworth finished 37 seconds ahead of Yolande McClean.

In third position was Leilani Scheffer in 2:29:43.In the men’s division Reginald Poopedi won the race with a time of 2:27:03.
Poopedi improved on the time of the winner of 2017’s race, Gaolathilhe Lesetedi, and crossed the finish line in 2:28:39.
Lesetedi did not defend his title as he was running the Soweto Marathon. Charles Nkonto took second place, followed by Siya Mgambeli.

William Mothosola, of LowMed Family Health & Sports Performance Centre, took first place in the 21-kilometre race in a time of 1:18:56.
Only two weeks ago he won silver in the 10 kilometre race at the Ehlanzeni Sports & Tourism Marathon.
Patrick Matsalela received the silver medal, with Morris Mayiga rounding off the podium.
This is part of Mayiga’s preparations for next year’s Comrades Marathon which he aims to complete under six hours.
Mia Morrison won the half-marathon in 1:18:07.

The defending title holder of this race, Teresa Nigrini, was also participating in the Soweto Marathon.
Donne Green was second, three minutes ahead of Naomi Nel.

Moses Mahlanga ran his first race in 2018 and outdid himself, winning in 30 minutes and five seconds in the 10-kilometre race.
Last year Elroy Galant, won in a time of 29 minutes and eight seconds. Abednico Mashaba was in second place.
In the 10 kilometres for women, Angeline Molaba won in a time of 44:08 She beat Charmaine Lemmer by
20 seconds. In third place was Nontokozo Dlamini, the winner of Uniwisp Kaapsehoop 21 kilometre in 2016 and 2017.
