Barberton’s best on the field acknowledged

Barberton Rugby Club's (BRC) best and brightest were honoured at the club's annual prize-giving ceremony last Friday evening.

The 23-year-old loose-head prop, Ndumiso Mabila, claimed the major individual awards on the day by winning BRC’s player of the year award as well as being named players’ player of the 2018 season.

Chairman of the club, Jaice Terblanche has high hopes for the young player.

“He is a great ball carrier and gives his all in every game we play. He played a vital role in this year’s season and Ndumiso deserves to play rugby on a higher level. He is definitely one of the best players I have been playing with,” said Terblanche.

Flyhalf, Quintin Fourie (29) received the Nelspruit Truss player of the match for the first team and he was also presented with the Quality Panelbeaters leadership trophy.

Johan van Wyk was named second team player of the year as well as backline player of the season.
