Local fencers to participate at Junior National Fencing Championships

Delané Ondendaal, Jenna Ingram, Cameron Barnard and Caitlin Barnard are travelling to Soweto today.

Local fencers will head to Soweto, where they will compete in the Junior National Fencing Championships this weekend.

Delané Ondendaal, Jenna Ingram, Cameron Barnard and Caitlin Barnard are travelling to Soweto today.

They will participate in the épée category on Saturday. Greta Ingram, the founder of Mpumalanga Fencing Club, said this is one of the biggest competitions in fencing for people aged between 11 and 20.

“This is not the first time that we are sending a team to the competition. In 2017 Jenna Ingram obtained a silver medal and Sakhile Ngobe got a bronze,” she said. Here are Delané Ondendaal, Jenna Ingram, Cameron Barnard and Caitlin Barnard.
