Acornbush need four more points to win MP ABC Motsepe League
In the 2016/17 season, Acornbush went all the way to the national play-offs in the East London in the Eastern Cape.
Acornbush United need only four points from the possible 15 in their remaining five games to be officially crowned Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League champions.
United narrowly beat Lumoja 1-0 in an encounter that took place at KaBokweni Stadium on Saturday to open a 11-point lead on the summit of the league.
They now lead the race with 63 points after 25 games.
Second placed, Tjakastad Junior Shepherds follow with 52 points after the same number of games.
Shepherds beat Nkomazi Royal Eagles 2-0 in a game that took place at Elukwatini Stadium.

The champions of the Mpumalanga ABC League will represent the province against other eight teams from their respective provinces in the national play-offs.
Two teams that will finish as the overall champions and the runners up during the play-offs will be
automatically promoted to the National First Division (NFD).
Having seen their neighbours, TS Sporting promoted to the NFD last season during the play-offs that were held in Polokwane, Limpopo, United will be eager to follow suit.
