At 16, Geere had already been accepted at Ranger Junior College in Texas to pursue his golfing career. This former former pupil of Hoërskool Nelspruit recently joined the college.

At 18 years old, golfing sensation Brandon Geere bagged yet another accolade at the Mbombela Open at Mbombela Golf Club on Sunday.
Brandon was fresh from winning the Mpumalanga Winter Championships. The Open attracted some of the top competitors from across the country.
During the Winter Championships, Geere came up trumps with a total score of 143, which included a world-class tally of 29 shots on the back nine. He scored eagles on hole 14 and 15, and his round was riddled with birdies.
During the Open, he played successive rounds of 70 and 72, which was enough to bag the win. In round one, he scored pars throughout, with the exception being hole three and 16, which were bogeyed.
He recovered well with birdies on nine, 14 and 15, however, finishing one below par. In round two, Geere bogeyed six holes, but scored three birdies to make up for it and one eagle on hole four, to finish one over par, and win the tournament. Only one shot separated the first three places.
Had Neville Meyer from Malalane played the first round (75) like he did the second (68), he could have dethroned Geere, but three double bogeys in round one cost him dearly. In third place was Eddie Wilken, also from Malalane, with 145.
At 16, Geere had already been accepted at Ranger Junior College in Texas to pursue his golfing career. This former former pupil of Hoërskool Nelspruit recently joined the college.
In 2017 he was named player of the year during NHS’s prize-giving ceremony and is already ranked second in his college team and top of his class academically.
His best round to date was 13 under after three rounds. This secured him a sixth place, which goes to show just how tough the competition is in America.
He is using his time back in South Africa wisely to gain more experience, to go back refreshed and ready for 2020.
